Late afternoon is Turtle Town at its prettiest. Two hours at golden hour — part kayak, part snorkel — with warm light, calm water, and turtles drifting through it, in a group of ten at most. We meet at Mākena Landing Park and ease into the evening. Your local guide times it so you're out on the water as the light turns gold over the reef — and in whale season, humpbacks sometimes cruise by. A soft, golden end to a Maui day.
