As the light fades, the day shift clocks out and the night reef wakes up: turtles settle in to rest, octopus come out to hunt, and crabs, shrimp, and sleeping fish appear in your guide’s beam. How the night snorkel works
You’ll meet your guide at Mākena Landing Park before sunset, gear up with high-end equipment and a powerful underwater light, and walk straight into the water from shore. Groups stay small, your guide stays close, and the pace is slow — night snorkeling is about looking carefully, not covering distance. The tour runs about 1.5 hours, and start times shift with the sunset (see the calendar for tonight’s). No night experience needed — if you can snorkel by day, you can do this. Questions first? Meet at the shoreline at dusk, get fitted with top-tier equipment, wetsuits, and dive lights. Saftey Briefing and How To’s.
Enter the water during the transition period from day to night. We will Ensure comfortability with your gear and a safe water entry.
Using our custom 4,000 lumen “main” light and your personal dive light will ensure a unique night voyage with plenty of visibility. Swim alongside night octopus, turtles, lobsters and other critters only available for viewing after hours.
Return to shore and finish with a quick recap of the experience.
